She is preceded in death by her husband parents and sister, Norma Watson.Ī celebration of Ruth’s life will be at 1:30 p.m. Ruth is survived by her sons, Larry Axelson and wife Kathy of Mead, Colo., Dick Axelson and wife Debi of Drake, Colo., and Howard Axelson and wife Jenny of Greeley daughter, Jean Alfano and husband Charlie of Phoenix seven grandchildren eight great-grandchildren and sister, Claudia Ford of Paso Robles, Calif. She loved vegetable gardening, creating beautiful flower beds, collecting antique dishes and spending time with her family. Ruth was a member of the Bachelder Neighbors Club, Niwot Garden Club, Northern Colorado Dairywomen and Longmont United Methodist Church, where she was active in women’s circles. She had resided at the Sterling House of Greeley since July 2009. Together, they spent their married life on a dairy farm near Niwot until moving to Greeley in 1990. She was raised in the Niwot/Longmont area and graduated from Longmont High School in 1943. She was born June 11, 1925, in Longmont, Colo., to C.B. 1, 2010, at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado with her family at her side. Axelson, 85, of Greeley, peacefully passed away Aug.
